AgainstData Review: Clean Your Inbox for Cold Email For SEO

Last Updated Date: December 5, 2025

TLDR:

  • Tool to rapidly clean a very full Gmail inbox by bulk-unsubscribing and optionally auto-deleting emails from repeat promotional/notification senders.
  • Requires Gmail read access, and extra permissions if you want it to actually delete emails or send messages (like data-deletion requests) on your behalf.
  • Automatically scans and categorizes senders, then lets you one-click unsubscribe and mass-delete existing emails from those senders.
  • Can generate and send GDPR-style personal data deletion requests to companies, then track statuses and replies inside its own interface.
  • Works well for busy inboxes if you are comfortable with the required Google permissions and like a one-time lifetime deal option.

I tested AgainstData because my Gmail had about 355 pages of Gmail data and I wanted a faster way to bulk unsubscribe from mass senders and send deletion requests for personal data. This AgainstData Review explains how I set it up, what permissions it needs, how it handles bulk unsubscribe and deletion requests, and the results I saw when cleaning promotional and notification emails.

How do I set up AgainstData with my Google account and what permissions does it ask for?

I logged in with my Google Gmail account and the app prompts that it will review access to my Google account because it needs to read all your emails to do this. You must check and click continue to allow access. Initially I gave permission to read emails so AgainstData could scan my inbox. Later, when I wanted deletion actions, I enabled additional permissions so it could edit and delete messages on my behalf.

How quickly can AgainstData find and categorize senders in a messy inbox?

After setup it immediately started scanning and grouped emails into personal, promotional, and notification categories. It listed senders like Google AdSense, PayPal, and Amazon Associates and showed how many emails each sender had sent and the last activity. That made it easy to spot repeat senders and large promotional lists.

How do I bulk unsubscribe and delete promotional emails?

The clean inbox screen shows groups such as “70 sending you emails” with a one-click option to unsubscribe. I clicked unsubscribe, and the tool asked whether I wanted to only unsubscribe or also delete the existing emails. After granting delete permission, I automatically deleted 29 emails in one action. The interface displays the sender name, actual email address, count of messages, and last activity so you can confidently remove what you do not want.

Can I request companies to delete my personal data through AgainstData?

The personal data section lists companies that hold your data and gives basic company info, industry, how many people deleted data from them, and a privacy score. For a company I selected, I clicked ask for deletion. AgainstData drafted a deletion request email with my details and then asked permission to send email on my behalf. I sent the deletion request and the system created a request item that tracked status. It took a few minutes to generate and queue the message.

How do I track deletion requests and verify they were sent?

Requests show a status like waiting to be sent or sent. AgainstData offers a conversation-style inbox for replies so you can reply from the tool rather than switching to Gmail. To verify, I checked my Gmail Sent folder and confirmed the deletion emails were actually sent. The tool also lets you mark requests as completed or “mark as salt” so you can categorize resolved items.

What I liked and what to watch for

  • Straightforward interface that is not overcomplicated.
  • Combines unsubscribe and delete in one workflow, saving time on large inboxes.
  • Personal data requests are drafted and tracked; you can send deletion requests from the tool.
  • Requires Google permissions to read and, if you choose, to delete emails—be sure you are comfortable with that level of access before enabling delete.

Is this AgainstData Review worth trying if you have a busy inbox?

Yes. After cleaning hundreds of promotional emails and sending deletion requests, I found the tool does what it is supposed to do in a clean, effective manner. If you want a quick way to unsubscribe from mass senders and manage data deletion requests, AgainstData speeds up what would otherwise take hours of manual work. There is also a lifetime deal option for permanent access if you prefer a one-time payment.

Does AgainstData actually delete emails from my Gmail?

Yes, but you must explicitly grant the app permission to edit and delete emails. After granting delete permission, I deleted 29 emails automatically as part of a bulk action.

What permissions does AgainstData need to work?

At minimum it needs permission to read your emails to scan and categorize senders. If you want to delete emails or send requests directly, you must grant additional permissions to edit and send email on your behalf.

Can I send deletion requests to companies through AgainstData?

Yes. AgainstData drafts a deletion request email including your details and can send it on your behalf. The request is tracked inside the tool and you can monitor replies without leaving the app.

Will AgainstData unsubscribe me automatically from every sender?

AgainstData groups senders and provides a one-click unsubscribe option for groups or individual senders. It gives you control to choose which senders to unsubscribe from and whether to delete existing messages.
