Get Started with Keyword Planner
Anyone with a Google Ads account can access the Keyword Planner tool after they create a campaign.
To access Keyword Planner, you first need to complete your Google Ads Account setup and create a campaign.
If your account is using Smart Mode, you’ll need to switch it to Expert Mode.
Then you can access Keyword Planner by clicking the “Tools” icon, selecting “Planning” from the section menu, and then choosing “Keyword Planner”.
Keyword Planner is available in the “Tools” menu under the “Planning” section; no separate account creation is necessary.
Create a Keyword Plan
Once you open Keyword Planner, you can create your keyword plan by searching for new keywords, clicking Discover new keywords, or uploading existing keywords.
You can search for keywords in Keyword Planner with the “Discover new keywords” option by entering keywords related to your products or services, or by entering a website to search for related content.
Understand Your Keyword Forecast
Your plan forecast shows you how many conversions, clicks, or impressions you are likely to get for your keywords based on your spend.
You can always view your forecast again by selecting Keyword Planner in the tools menu.
