Is the Link Chest Lifetime Deal Worth It?

Not at the price it appears to be, because the price it appears to be is not the price.

The listing frames $89 against $128/yr, which reads as a deal paying back in eight months. On 23 August 2026 I checked SEO Buddy’s own site. Link Chest sells there at $99 lifetime, alongside a $19/month option.

So the real comparison is $89 against $99, both one-time, for the same thing. The deal saves ten dollars. That is a fine ten dollars, but it is not a lifetime deal in any meaningful sense, and the eight-month payback the listing implies is measured against a subscription almost nobody buys.

That single check is the whole reason I would not buy this without doing it. I run it on every direct-vendor deal now, and it changes the answer more often than you would expect.

What You Are Actually Buying

A spreadsheet with a good interface. I mean that more neutrally than it sounds.

Link Chest is 2,454 websites that accept submissions, sorted into 21 categories: directories, forums, social profiles, review sites, bookmarking platforms, job boards. It ships with 500+ step-by-step guides with screenshots, filters for market, industry, language and difficulty, and a status tracker for untouched, submitted and live.

It is a curated database, not automation. You visit every one of those sites and submit by hand. The tool tells you where to go and tracks where you have been. It does not go anywhere for you.

And 48% of the links are dofollow. The rest are nofollow or unattributed, and most opportunities sit at difficulty level 1, which is the level where anyone can get one because there is no editorial gate.

The Mechanism Problem With Level-1 Directories

Here is the thing about a link anyone can get by filling in a form: everyone can get it, so it carries almost no information.

A link is worth something to a search engine because it represents a choice. Someone with a site decided your page was worth pointing at, and could have chosen otherwise. A directory that accepts every submission has not made a choice, and a link from it is not evidence of anything. Every competitor in your niche can acquire the identical link this afternoon, which means it cannot separate you from them.

Real citations on real business directories help local entity consistency, and a handful belong in any new site’s launch checklist. But the value is front-loaded into the first thirty or forty and it flattens hard after that. Nobody has ever gone from invisible to ranking on submission 900.

The 500+ guides are genuinely the best part of the product, and they also tell you what you are dealing with. If a link needs a screenshot walkthrough to acquire, it needs no relationship, no pitch and no reason. That is what makes it easy, and it is the same fact that makes it cheap.

What the 4.29 Rating Is Actually Telling You

257 reviews is a real sample, and 4.29 is a fair score for what this is: the database is accurate, the interface works, the guides are good. People got what was described.

What a rating collected shortly after purchase cannot tell you is whether the links moved anything, because nobody knows that at review time. On this product the gap between “is it as described” and “did it work” is wider than usual, and the rating only covers the first.

Who Should Buy It Anyway

One group, genuinely: somebody launching a brand new site who wants the foundational citation set done in a weekend without hunting for it. The first forty submissions have real value for entity consistency, the guides make it fast, and $89 is less than an afternoon of your time is worth.

If that is you, buy from whichever source is cheaper and use the top of the list. Just do not plan to work through all 2,454.

If you already have a site with traffic, this is the wrong tool. Your next link needs to come from something with editorial judgement behind it, and no list of open-submission directories contains one.

Check the Vendor’s Own Price on Day One

1. Day 1. Before anything else, open seobuddy.com and check what they are charging today. If direct is cheaper, refund and buy direct. Prices move.
2. Week 1. Filter to dofollow only, at your market and language. Look at how many rows survive. That number, not 2,454, is what you bought.
3. Weeks 1 to 2. Submit to thirty. Log the date on each.
4. Day 45. Check how many of the thirty are live and indexed. Search site: on each domain for your URL. Expect real attrition: submissions get rejected, queued forever, or published on pages nothing ever crawls. A live rate under half is normal for this category and is worth knowing before you commit weekends to the other 2,400.
5. Day 55. Compare effort against result honestly. Thirty manual submissions is a few hours. If the return on those hours does not justify the next thirty, refund it and put the time into one piece of content somebody might link to on purpose.
