Is the WP Links Lifetime Deal Worth It?

Not yet, and the reason is the vendor rather than the plugin.

On 23 August 2026 I checked the website this deal was listing, flavor.flavor-developer.dev. It does not resolve. Not a 404, not a holding page. DNS returns nothing at all. The product’s real home is getwplinks.com, which is live and working, so this is a stale listing rather than a vanished company, and I have corrected the link on this page. But a vendor selling a lifetime deal while pointing buyers at a dead developer subdomain is telling you something about how closely the storefront is being watched, and lifetime is a promise about exactly that.

At $49 against $119/yr the payback is five months, which is reasonable arithmetic. The arithmetic is not the issue.

Why Five Reviews Cannot Carry a Lifetime Decision

WP Links sits at 4.00 from five reviews.

Five is anecdote. One dissatisfied buyer moves that average by more than half a star. There is no distribution to read, no pattern of complaints to weigh, nothing to tell you whether 4.00 reflects a solid plugin with a rough edge or two people being polite. Compare it with WP 301 Redirects in an adjacent category at 4.85 from 281 reviews. That is a number you can lean on. This is not.

What makes it matter more here than elsewhere: a lifetime licence is a bet on the company, not the code. A subscription lets you leave in a month. A lifetime purchase is you saying you expect this vendor to still be maintaining a WordPress plugin against core updates in three years. Five reviews and a dead domain on the listing are thin evidence for that bet, whatever the plugin does today.

What the Plugin Actually Controls

To be fair to it, the feature set is sensible and the tier limits are generous.

WP Links manages link attributes site-wide: nofollow, sponsored, UGC, target and title, applied by rule rather than post by post. The $49 tier covers 10 sites and 4,000 scan credits. The $98 tier moves to 50 sites and 8,000 credits with white-label, and $147 buys unlimited sites and 15,000 credits.

Ten sites at $49 is genuinely good value for an agency, and this is a real job. If you run affiliate content, rel="sponsored" on monetised outbound links is Google’s documented expectation, and applying it by hand across a few thousand posts is not work anyone does reliably. A rule-based tool is the right shape of answer.

The honest caveat is that the job is not large. Setting link attributes is a well-covered problem. Several SEO plugins already do a version of it, and if you run Rank Math or Yoast you may find you are buying a second tool to do something the first one partly handles. Check before you spend.

What Would Change My Mind

Two things, and both are easy to watch for.

The review count clearing 40 with the average holding above 4.5. Forty is roughly where a marketplace rating stops being a coin flip and starts describing the product.

And the listing being corrected. When the vendor updates that website field to getwplinks.com, it means somebody is minding the store. Small signal, but for a lifetime purchase it is the relevant one, and waiting for it costs you nothing.

Staging First, and Test the Uninstall

If you buy now anyway, front-load every check that could break the deal.

1. Day 1. Install on a staging copy, never on the live site first. A plugin that rewrites link attributes across every post has broad write access to your content, and five reviews is not enough of an audit to skip staging.
2. Day 1. Run one rule against one category. Then view source on three posts and confirm the attribute landed exactly where you intended, and nowhere else. Over-application is the failure mode with rule-based link tools, and it is quiet.
3. Week 1. Test the reversal. Turn the rule off and confirm the attributes come back out cleanly. If disabling the plugin leaves rewritten links behind in your post content, you are not buying a tool, you are buying a permanent change to your database. Find that out on staging in week one.
4. Week 3. Email support with a real question and time the reply. On a $49 lifetime licence from a vendor with five reviews, support responsiveness is the single most informative thing you can measure, and you cannot measure it after day 60.
5. Day 55. Ask whether you have actually used it since week one. Link attribute tools are set-and-forget by design, which is a virtue, but it also means an unused one never announces itself. Refund the ones you forgot about.
