Link Building
BuzzStream: what it does, what it costs
An outreach CRM that remembers every relationship, not just every email sent.
BuzzStream at a glance
Every row is a verified field or an honest absence. A row is dropped rather than filled with an em dash, so the length of this table says how complete the record is.

What BuzzStream is
BuzzStream is a CRM for outreach rather than a mail merge. It discovers contact details, tracks opens, clicks and replies, stores templates, and keeps the history of who you have talked to and what came of it. For link building and digital PR, that relationship record is the asset — the second campaign to the same journalist works far better when you know what happened in the first.
It also monitors the links you win, which closes the loop most outreach tools leave open: 1,000 monitored links on Starter and 25,000 on Growth. Winning a placement and never noticing when it disappears is a common and expensive failure, and having monitoring in the same tool that earned the link is the sensible arrangement.
Two things to know about how it is sold. Contacts are the axis — 500 on Starter, 25,000 on Growth, 100,000 on Professional — and additional users cost $58 or $70 each above the included count, so a growing team's bill moves in steps. And ListIQ, the media-list and journalist-research product, is a separate purchase from $24 a month, not part of these plans.
What you can use it for
- Run link building and digital PR outreach with a full relationship history
- Discover contact details for publishers and journalists
- Monitor whether won links are still live
- Share templates and report on campaign performance across a team
- Build targeted media lists with ListIQ, bought separately
The features that matter for SEO
Each one says what it does and the SEO job it serves. A vendor feature list without that second half tells you nothing you could not read on their own site.
Outreach CRM with relationship history
Stores contacts, conversations and outcomes rather than only sent messages.
The core value. Outreach at any scale becomes a relationship-management problem, and knowing what you last said to someone is what separates a pitch from spam.
Contact info discovery
Finds contact details for sites and authors, on every plan.
The step that otherwise eats the day. Included from Starter rather than sold as credits, unlike much of this category.
Link monitoring
Tracks whether earned links remain live — 1,000 links on Starter, 25,000 on Growth.
Closes the loop. A link that vanishes six months later costs you the value you paid to earn, and nothing tells you unless something is watching.
Automated follow-ups and scheduling
Sends sequenced follow-ups and schedules sends, from the Growth tier.
Most replies come from a follow-up, not the first email — so this is closer to essential than optional for anyone doing volume.
Not available on Starter.
Contact-based pricing
Scales plans by stored contacts, from 500 to 100,000.
Easy to size if you know your prospect volume, and the entry tier's 500 contacts is genuinely small — a single campaign can exhaust it.
Per-seat charges above the included users
Charges $58 or $70 per additional user beyond the plan's allowance.
Worth modelling for a team. Seats are the cost that scales here, unlike tools offering unlimited users.
Ahrefs integration
Pulls Ahrefs data into the outreach workflow, from Growth.
Qualifying prospects on link metrics inside the outreach tool avoids the export-and-reconcile step.
ListIQ media lists
Builds targeted media lists and researches journalists, sold separately with email credits.
Aimed at digital PR rather than link building. Useful, and a second invoice — the plans above do not include it.
Pricing and limits
Starting price: From $49/month (Starter); ListIQ priced separately from $24/month Checked 20 August 2026 Vendor’s own pricing page
| Plan | Price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $49 /mo | Described by the vendor as simple out-of-the-box outreach for solo users.
|
| Growth | $174 /mo |
|
| Professional | $424 /mo |
|
| ListIQ Add-on | $24 to $399 /mo | A separate product for media lists and journalist research, priced on email credits — Starter $24 for 50, Plus $99 for 250, Growth $199 for 650, Pro $399 for 1,600. Not included in the plans above. |
Add-on rows are only ever charged on top of a plan, so they are excluded from the entry price used in the directory’s price filter.
Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- A genuine outreach CRM, not a mail merge
- Contact discovery included on every plan
- Link monitoring bundled with the tool that earned the links
- Long track record — operating since 2008
- Ahrefs integration for prospect qualification
Limitations
- Starter is very limited — 500 contacts, no automated follow-ups
- Additional users cost $58 to $70 each
- ListIQ is a separate subscription, which is easy to miss
- The jump from $49 to $174 is steep for a small team
- Its `/pricing` URL returns a 404 page; the real path is `/plans-pricing/`
Who it is for, and who should skip it
Worth it if
- Agencies running ongoing link building or digital PR
- Teams who need shared templates, permissions and reporting
- Anyone whose outreach depends on repeat relationships
Skip it if
- You send occasional one-off emails — this is built for programmes
- You need many seats cheaply
- You want media-list building included rather than as an add-on
Alternatives to BuzzStream
Each one answers when it is the better choice, which is the only thing a list of competitors is useful for.
- Pitchbox Choose it when you want unlimited users, heavier automation and AI personalisation.
- Ahrefs Choose it when prospect discovery and link data matter more than managing the conversation.
- Majestic Choose it when you want the deepest link index for qualifying targets, and will handle outreach elsewhere.

What changed
- 20 August 2026 — ListIQ is recorded as an add-on rather than folded into the main plans. It is a separate product with its own credit-based pricing, and treating its $24 entry price as BuzzStream's would understate the cost of the outreach platform by half.
Questions
How much does BuzzStream cost?
Starter is $49 a month for 1 user and 500 contacts, Growth $174 for 3 users and 25,000 contacts, and Professional $424 for 6 users and 100,000 contacts. Extra users are $58 or $70 each. ListIQ is separate, from $24. Verified on 20 August 2026.
Is ListIQ included?
No. ListIQ is a separate product for media lists and journalist research, priced on email credits from $24 a month for 50 credits up to $399 for 1,600. The outreach plans do not include it.
BuzzStream or Pitchbox?
BuzzStream if the relationship record is what you value and you have a small team — it starts much cheaper. Pitchbox if you need unlimited users, heavier automation and AI personalisation, and can justify $300 a month to start.
