Search Atlas: what it does, what it costs
Sells work done rather than dashboards, with an agent that deploys the changes.
What Search Atlas is
Search Atlas positions itself against the rest of this category deliberately: "you buy work done, not another pile of logins." The centre of the product is OTTO, an agent that connects to a site and implements on-page changes — metadata, schema, internal links, technical fixes — rather than producing a list for somebody else to action.
That framing determines the pricing shape. Plans are counted in OTTO SEO projects and user seats, starting at one of each for $99 a month, and the higher tiers add projects, quotas, LLM visibility tracking and Smart Ads automation for paid campaigns. It is sold as a growth engine covering SEO, ads, content and automation in one subscription.
Judge it on the deployment claim rather than the feature list. An agent with write access to your site is a different risk category from a reporting tool: the questions that matter are what it changed, whether you can review before it ships, and whether you can roll back. Anything that can fix a page unattended can also break one.
What you can use it for
- Have on-page fixes implemented rather than added to a backlog
- Run SEO and paid campaigns from one subscription
- Track LLM visibility alongside conventional rankings, from the second tier
- Manage several client projects with per-project licensing
The features that matter for SEO
Each one says what it does and the SEO job it serves. A vendor feature list without that second half tells you nothing you could not read on their own site.
OTTO SEO
Connects to a site and implements on-page changes — metadata, schema, internal links and technical fixes — rather than only recommending them.
The product. Most SEO software produces recommendations nobody implements; this closes that gap, which is genuinely the biggest source of wasted SEO spend.
An agent with write access to your site. Establish the review and rollback path before switching it on.
Project-based licensing
Counts entitlement in OTTO SEO projects — one on Starter, two on Growth.
Clear for agency budgeting, and restrictive at the entry tier — a second client means the second plan.
LLM visibility tracking
Monitors brand presence in AI-generated answers.
Included from the $199 tier rather than sold separately, which is reasonable if you want both in one bill.
Not available on the Starter plan.
Smart Ads (OTTO PPC)
Automates paid campaign management alongside the SEO work.
Relevant if you run both channels; irrelevant if you do not, and you are paying for it either way from Growth up.
Content and technical tooling
Covers keyword research, content briefs, audits and rank tracking as a conventional suite would.
Means it can be the only subscription rather than an addition to one, which is the intent behind the "not another login" positioning.
API access
Exposes platform data programmatically.
Available in the product rather than reserved for the top tier.

Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- Implements changes rather than only recommending them, which is the real bottleneck in most SEO work
- LLM visibility tracking bundled from the second tier
- Covers SEO, content, technical and paid in one subscription
- Clear project-based licensing for agency budgeting
- Seven-day free trial before committing
Limitations
- One project and one seat on the $99 tier — a second client doubles the cost
- LLM visibility tracking is absent from the entry plan
- An agent with write access to your site carries risk that a reporting tool does not
- You pay for the paid-ads automation from Growth up whether or not you run ads
- No free tier, and the top published tier is $999 a month
Who it is for, and who should skip it
Worth it if
- Implementation capacity, not analysis, is your constraint
- You want SEO and paid automation in one subscription
- You bill per client and can map projects to plans
Skip it if
- You want recommendations you will implement yourself and review carefully
- You need several projects on a small budget
- You are uncomfortable giving a tool write access to a live site
Alternatives to Search Atlas
Each one answers when it is the better choice, which is the only thing a list of competitors is useful for.
- ClickRank Choose it when you want the same deploy-the-fix model on a smaller budget, and Alston has tested that one.
- Semrush Choose it when you want the widest research and reporting toolset and will do implementation yourself.
- SE Ranking Choose it when you manage many client projects and want unlimited research rather than per-project licensing.

Questions
What is OTTO in Search Atlas?
OTTO is the agent at the centre of the product. It connects to your site and implements on-page changes — metadata, schema, internal links, technical fixes — rather than listing them for someone else to do. OTTO PPC is the equivalent for paid campaigns.
How much does Search Atlas cost?
Starter is $99 a month for one project and one seat, Growth $199 for two projects plus LLM visibility tracking and Smart Ads, then $399 and $999 tiers above that. A seven-day free trial is offered. Verified on 19 August 2026.
Is it safe to let a tool change my site automatically?
It is a real decision, not a formality. Anything with write access can ship a change you would not have approved, so before enabling it establish what it will change, whether you review before it goes live, and how you roll back. Configure it to propose rather than publish until you trust it.
