SEO PowerSuite: what it does, what it costs
Four desktop applications, unlimited projects, and a licence rather than a subscription.

What SEO PowerSuite is
SEO PowerSuite is four desktop applications sold as one licence: Rank Tracker for positions, WebSite Auditor for technical and on-page work, SEO SpyGlass for backlinks and LinkAssistant for outreach. Because they run on your machine rather than on the vendor's servers, every paid tier allows unlimited projects, unlimited keywords and unlimited crawls — the constraint is your own hardware, not a quota.
That is the trade in both directions. Nothing here is metered, which for a consultant with twenty client sites is a fundamentally different cost structure from a per-project cloud platform. But crawls depend on a machine being on, sharing a report means exporting it, and there is no collaboration layer of the kind a browser-based tool gives you for free.
There is also a free edition that does not expire, with the significant catch that it cannot save projects or export reports. Treat it as a way to evaluate the software properly rather than as a tier you can work in.
What you can use it for
- Track unlimited keywords across unlimited projects for a fixed annual licence
- Crawl large sites without a URL quota, limited only by your own machine
- Manage outreach prospects alongside backlink analysis in the same suite
- Work offline, with data held locally rather than on a vendor's servers
The features that matter for SEO
Each one says what it does and the SEO job it serves. A vendor feature list without that second half tells you nothing you could not read on their own site.
Unlimited projects, keywords and crawls
Places no quota on projects, tracked keywords, crawled URLs or analysed backlinks on any paid tier.
The whole economic case. For a consultant with twenty client sites, a fixed annual licence against per-project cloud pricing is a different order of cost.
Limited by your own machine's memory and bandwidth instead.
Rank Tracker
Tracks keyword positions across search engines and locations, including Google AI Overviews.
Unlimited keywords means you can track the long tail nobody else can afford to, which is where the aggregate movement often is.
WebSite Auditor
Crawls a site for technical and on-page issues and models on-page optimisation against competitors.
A crawler with an on-page optimisation layer, which is a combination the cloud tools generally split into two products.
SEO SpyGlass
Analyses backlink profiles and penalty risk.
Adequate for auditing your own and a competitor's profile. The index is not in the class of the dedicated ones.
LinkAssistant
Manages link prospecting and outreach campaigns.
Outreach tracking inside the same licence, where standalone outreach CRMs are a separate subscription entirely.
Local data storage
Keeps project data on your own machine.
Genuinely matters for clients with data-handling constraints, and it means your history does not end when a subscription does.
Report export and white label
Exports and shares branded reports.
The free edition cannot export at all, so this is the practical dividing line between the free and paid editions.

Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- Unlimited projects, keywords and crawls on every paid tier
- A fixed annual licence rather than per-project or per-seat metering
- Four tools including outreach management under one licence
- Data stored locally, which suits clients with data constraints
- A non-expiring free edition for proper evaluation
Limitations
- Desktop software, so crawls depend on your machine being on and having the memory
- No real collaboration layer — sharing means exporting
- The free edition cannot save projects or export reports
- Backlink and keyword databases are weaker than the dedicated cloud tools'
- The interface is dated, and four applications is more surface than one dashboard
Who it is for, and who should skip it
Worth it if
- Consultants and agencies with many client sites and no appetite for per-project pricing
- Crawling large sites without a URL quota
- Anyone who needs data held locally
Skip it if
- You want a browser-based tool your whole team can open
- You need scheduled crawls without leaving a machine running
- Database depth for competitive research is the deciding factor
Alternatives to SEO PowerSuite
Each one answers when it is the better choice, which is the only thing a list of competitors is useful for.
- SE Ranking Choose it when you want a cloud platform with collaboration and reporting rather than desktop software.
- Screaming Frog SEO Spider Choose it when crawling is the only job — it is cheaper and deeper at that one thing.
- Mangools Choose it when you want something simpler and browser-based at a lower price.
- Majestic Choose it when link data is the purchase and you need a serious independent index.

What changed
- 19 August 2026 — Recorded the annual licence prices rather than the monthly figures the page leads with. It presents each tier as a discounted monthly rate against a higher monthly list price, but the billing is annual — $349, $599 and $899 a year are the amounts actually charged.
Questions
Is SEO PowerSuite's free version usable?
For evaluation, yes — it does not expire and the tools work. For actual work, no: it cannot save projects or export reports, so nothing you do survives closing the application. Treat it as an unlimited trial rather than a free tier.
How much does SEO PowerSuite cost?
Professional is $349 a year, Enterprise $599 and Max+ $899, all billed annually. The pricing page presents these as discounted monthly rates — $29.10, $49.95 and $74.95 — against higher monthly list prices, but the charge is annual. Verified on 19 August 2026.
Why choose desktop SEO software in 2026?
Two reasons that still hold. Nothing is metered, so unlimited projects and keywords for a fixed annual fee beats per-project cloud pricing once you pass a handful of sites. And the data sits on your machine, which matters for clients with data-handling requirements and means your history outlives the subscription.
