Whitespark: what it does, what it costs
Deliberately not a platform — five local SEO tools sold separately, from $1 a location.
Whitespark at a glance
Every row is a verified field or an honest absence. A row is dropped rather than filled with an em dash, so the length of this table says how complete the record is.

What Whitespark is
Whitespark states its position on its own pricing page: "We don't believe in forced bundling." It is not a single platform by design, and its software is sold as five separate products so you buy the piece you need. In a category where every competitor is assembling an all-in-one suite, that is a genuine structural difference rather than positioning.
The prices reflect it. Local Platform, for managing Google Business Profiles — preventing unwanted updates, bulk editing locations — is $1 per month per location, which is close to free for a multi-location business. Local Ranking Grids starts at $10 a month and covers up to 225 geographic points. Local Rank Tracker runs $14 to $200, Local Citation Finder $33 to $149, and Reputation Builder is $79 per location per month.
Two things to weigh. Unbundling means you can end up with several subscriptions if you want the whole picture, and a bundled competitor may work out cheaper for that case — the saving is real only if you genuinely need one or two pieces. And Whitespark also sells done-for-you services, from $499 to $1,999 a month plus citation building, which are separate from the software and not what is priced here. Its Local Search Ranking Factors report, published free, remains one of the reference documents of local SEO.
What you can use it for
- Manage Google Business Profiles across many locations for $1 each
- Monitor local rankings across up to 225 geographic points
- Find and monitor local citations
- Automate review requests and review management
- Buy only the local SEO tool you actually need
The features that matter for SEO
Each one says what it does and the SEO job it serves. A vendor feature list without that second half tells you nothing you could not read on their own site.
Unbundled products
Sells five local SEO tools individually rather than as a suite.
The reason to look here. If you need citation finding and nothing else, you pay for citation finding — which no all-in-one competitor lets you do.
Wanting three or four of them may cost more than a bundled platform.
Google Business Profile management at $1 per location
Manages profiles, prevents unwanted updates and allows bulk editing, for $1 per location a month.
Remarkable value for multi-location businesses. Google applying unrequested edits to a profile is a real and common problem, and guarding against it at this price is close to a default purchase.
Local Ranking Grids up to 225 points
Monitors local rankings across up to 225 geographic points from $10 a month.
The same geo-grid idea as dedicated scanners, at a much lower entry price — a 15x15 grid is 225 points.
Local Citation Finder
Finds citation opportunities and monitors existing ones.
The tool the company built its name on. Citation consistency is unglamorous local SEO groundwork that still moves local rankings.
Reputation Builder
Requests and manages reviews, priced per location.
Review volume and recency are local ranking factors as well as conversion factors, and automation is the only way to sustain a request habit.
At $79 per location, this is the expensive piece for multi-location use.
Local Search Ranking Factors report
Publishes an annual survey of what practitioners believe drives local rankings, free.
A reference document for the whole discipline, and useful whether or not you buy anything.
API access
Documents an API for the ranking grids product.
Lets grid data feed your own reporting rather than living in the vendor's interface.

| Services Add-on | $499 to $1,999 /mo | Done-for-you SEO services, plus a separately priced citation building and listing cleanup service. Not software, and listed here only so the software prices are not confused with them. |

Strengths and limitations

- Google Business Profile management at $1 per location
- Ranking grids from $10 a month, up to 225 points
- Long-established local SEO specialist, operating since 2009

Limitations
- Wanting several tools means several subscriptions, which can exceed a bundle
- Reputation Builder at $79 per location is costly at scale

Skip it if

Alternatives to Whitespark
Each one answers when it is the better choice, which is the only thing a list of competitors is useful for.
- BrightLocal Choose it when you want one platform covering citations, audits, reviews and tracking together.
- Local Falcon Choose it when geo-grid scanning is the whole job and you want credits rather than plans.
- Google Business Profile Choose it when you need to manage the listing itself, free, before adding tooling around it.

What changed
- 20 August 2026 — Listed as one entry covering five separately sold products, because that is how the vendor sells them and splitting it into five listings would imply five independent tools competing on their own. Its done-for-you services are recorded as an add-on so their prices are not mistaken for software prices.
Questions
How much does Whitespark cost?
It depends which tool you buy, because nothing is bundled. Local Platform is $1 per location a month, Local Ranking Grids starts at $10, Local Rank Tracker runs $14 to $200, Local Citation Finder $33 to $149, and Reputation Builder is $79 per location. Verified on 20 August 2026.
Is unbundling actually cheaper?
Only if you need one or two pieces. Buying grids, tracking, citations and reviews separately can cost more than a platform like BrightLocal that includes them. The saving is real for focused needs and can invert for broad ones.
What is the $1 per location product?
Local Platform, for managing Google Business Profiles — bulk editing and, notably, preventing unwanted updates to your listings. Google applying edits you did not ask for is a common problem, and at $1 per location per month, guarding against it is close to a default purchase.
