Local Falcon: what it does, what it costs

Geo-grid local rank scanning where one credit is one map pin — so grid size is the bill.

Free trial Checked 20 August 2026

What Local Falcon is

Local Falcon answers a question conventional rank tracking cannot: local results change street by street, so "where do we rank" has no single answer. It scans a geographic grid around a location and reports your position at each point, which turns local visibility into a map rather than a number — and usually reveals that you rank well outside your own front door and vanish three miles away.

The pricing follows directly from that, and it is the thing to understand before buying. One credit is one data point — one pin on the grid. A 5x5 grid costs 25 credits, a 9x9 costs 81. Multiply that by your keyword count, your locations, and any competitor locations you also scan, and you have your monthly consumption. Grid size is the variable people underestimate, because the cost rises with the square of the grid's width.

Packages run $24.99 for 7,500 credits a month up to $199.99 for 63,150, with bonus credit rates rising at higher tiers, plus enterprise pricing and pay-as-you-go. The annual packages are the detail worth catching: unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle, so an annual package gives you a twelve-month window to spend them instead of a month — for roughly the same money, which matters if your scanning is irregular.

What you can use it for

  • See how local rankings change across a geographic area rather than at one point
  • Scan competitor locations alongside your own
  • Track local AI visibility for a business listing
  • Report local visibility to multi-location clients as a map

The features that matter for SEO

Each one says what it does and the SEO job it serves. A vendor feature list without that second half tells you nothing you could not read on their own site.

Geo-grid scanning

Reports rankings at each point on a geographic grid around a location.

The reason to use it. A single local ranking figure is an average of wildly different realities, and the grid is what shows you the radius where you actually compete.

One credit per grid point

Charges one credit per data point, so a 5x5 grid costs 25 credits and a 9x9 costs 81.

Transparent and easy to model, but it means cost rises with the square of grid width. Doubling your grid's resolution quadruples the bill.

Credits expire at the end of the billing cycle

Expires unused credit allotments each cycle, with annual packages giving a twelve-month cycle.

The most consequential detail in the pricing. Monthly packages punish irregular scanning; an annual package at roughly the same total cost lets credits pool for a year.

Both monthly and annual allotments expire — annual just has a much longer window.

Unlimited locations and keywords

Places no cap on locations or keywords on any package.

Right for this model. Credits already meter usage, so capping locations as well would charge twice for the same thing.

Competitor location scanning

Runs scheduled scans on competitor locations as well as your own.

The comparison that makes the data actionable — knowing who owns the area you are losing tells you what to fix.

Competitor scans consume credits at the same rate, so factor them into your budget.

Local AI visibility tracking

Tracks local AI visibility for a business listing alongside conventional local rank.

Local search is moving into AI answers too, and having both in one scanning tool avoids a second subscription.

100 free credits on signup

Provides 100 credits with no credit card.

Enough for one small grid scan on a handful of keywords — a genuine test of whether the geo-grid view changes your picture.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • Geo-grid view answers a question ordinary rank tracking cannot

  • Competitor scanning consumes the same credit pool
  • Local only — no general keyword, content or technical tooling
  • Plan names for the lower tiers are not clearly presented

  • You need broad SEO tooling in one subscription

  • Whitespark Choose it when you want to buy local ranking grids and citation tools separately, à la carte.

What changed

  • 20 August 2026 — Recorded as usage-based rather than subscription. The packages are credit allotments and the credits are the product, so describing it as tiered software would hide the only cost driver that matters — grid size multiplied by keywords and locations.

Questions

How much does Local Falcon cost?

From $24.99 a month for 7,500 credits, then $49.99 for 15,150, $99.99 (Pro) for 31,250 and $199.99 (Premium) for 63,150, with annual packages and enterprise pricing available. Bonus credit rates rise with the tier. Verified on 20 August 2026.

How many credits will a scan use?

One per grid point, so a 5x5 grid is 25 credits and a 9x9 is 81. Multiply by your keywords, your locations and any competitor locations you scan. Grid width is the variable to watch — cost rises with its square, so going from 5x5 to 9x9 more than triples the cost of every scan.

Should I buy monthly or annual?

Annual, if your scanning is at all irregular. Unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle, so a monthly package wastes whatever you do not use that month, while an annual package at roughly the same total cost gives you twelve months to spend them — plus a slightly better bonus rate.
