Rank Tracking
ProRankTracker: what it does, what it costs
Rank tracking billed in "Terms" — and an AI prompt costs two of them.
What ProRankTracker is
ProRankTracker's pricing turns on a unit you have to understand before comparing it with anything else. It does not sell keywords, it sells Terms, and one Term is one keyword plus one URL plus one engine, location and device combination. So tracking a single keyword across three cities and two devices is six Terms, not one. This is how every rank tracker actually works; PRT is unusual only in saying so on the pricing page.
The AI rate follows from the same logic and is worth planning around: an AI prompt costs two Terms rather than one. A thousand Terms is therefore 1,000 organic combinations, or 500 AI prompts, or any mix. Since it tracks AI Overviews, AI Mode and LLM platforms alongside conventional results, the decision is not whether you can afford AI tracking but how much organic coverage you are willing to trade for it.
What you get for that is unusually complete for the price: top-100 daily updates, local and mobile tracking, Google Business Profile map tracking, and unlimited URLs and projects on every tier — which matters, because unlimited projects means the Term count is your only constraint. Client reporting arrives at the $149 tier through Looker Studio and a white-labelled client app.
What you can use it for
- Track keywords across many locations and devices without a project cap
- Track AI Overviews, AI Mode and LLM platforms alongside organic positions
- Monitor Google Business Profile map positions
- Give clients their own rank-tracking view through a white-labelled app
- Feed rank data into Looker Studio reports
The features that matter for SEO
Each one says what it does and the SEO job it serves. A vendor feature list without that second half tells you nothing you could not read on their own site.
Terms as the billing unit
Bills per keyword-plus-URL-plus-engine, location and device combination rather than per keyword.
The number you must model before comparing prices. One keyword tracked in three cities on two devices is six Terms — which is how competitors bill too, whether or not they explain it.
Multi-location and multi-device tracking multiplies your Term count fast.
AI tracking at two Terms per prompt
Tracks AI Overviews, AI Mode and LLM platforms, charging two Terms per prompt.
Priced honestly and predictably, which is rare — most vendors either gate AI tracking behind a higher tier or leave the cost implicit. 1,000 Terms buys 500 AI prompts.
Unlimited URLs and projects
Places no cap on projects or tracked URLs on any tier.
Important for agencies. Adding a client costs Terms, not a plan upgrade, so the bill scales with tracked volume instead of client count.
Google Business Profile map tracking
Tracks positions in Google's map results.
Local rankings vary street by street, and map placement is a separate result set from organic. Tracking it on the entry tier is unusual.
MyRanks client app
Gives clients their own view of their rankings, from the Pro tier.
Replaces the monthly ranking email. Clients who can look for themselves ask better questions and fewer of them.
Pro tier and above.
Looker Studio integration
Feeds rank data into Looker Studio, from the Pro tier.
The practical route to combining rank data with analytics and Search Console in one client dashboard.
Top 100 daily updates
Reports positions through the top 100, updated daily, on every tier.
Depth beyond the top 10 is what lets you see a page climbing before it ever ranks, which is the early signal that a strategy is working.

- Unlimited URLs and projects on every plan

- The discounted prices shown may be promotional rather than standing
Who it is for, and who should skip it
Worth it if

Questions
What is a "Term" and why does it matter?
One Term is one keyword combined with one URL and one engine, location and device. Tracking "plumber" in three cities on mobile and desktop is six Terms, not one. Every rank tracker bills this way; ProRankTracker is unusual in stating it plainly, and it means you should model combinations rather than keywords before comparing prices.
How much does ProRankTracker cost?
Starter is $99 a month for 1,000 Terms and Pro is $149 for 2,000, then a ladder from $199 for 3,000 Terms up to $1,039 for 20,000, with custom pricing above that. Discounted prices around 10% lower were displayed at the time of checking. Verified on 20 August 2026.
How does AI tracking get billed?
At two Terms per prompt, against the same allowance as organic tracking. So 1,000 Terms is 1,000 organic combinations, or 500 AI prompts, or any mix — meaning AI coverage comes directly out of organic coverage rather than costing extra.
