SEO Browser Extensions tools
SEO browser extensions put data or diagnostics onto a page you are already looking at — the live page, or a set of search results — instead of asking you to open a tool and paste a URL into it.
What SEO browser extensions do
The saving is not analysis, it is the round trip. A question like "is this page indexable" or "how strong is everything ranking here" takes seconds to answer and a full context switch to look up, and over a working day the switch costs more than the answer. So the useful ones are judged on friction rather than on depth: how fast the panel opens, whether it reads the HTTP response as well as the HTML, whether it hands you the page in the tool you already pay for. Their common ceiling is the same — one page at a time, no history, no site-wide view — which is why an extension supplements a crawler and never replaces one. It is also the category where free is normal rather than a trial, because most of these exist to make a platform stickier.
The sub-types inside this category
- On-page inspectors Read the page in front of you — titles, canonicals, robots directives, headings, schema, hreflang. The closest thing to a crawler for a single URL.
- Metric overlays Print a vendor metric onto the search results — authority scores, keyword volumes — so a whole SERP can be judged at a glance.
- Platform companions Front ends for a subscription you already have, showing that platform's data in place and deepening once you log in.
- Workflow shortcuts Right-click menus, user-agent switches and export buttons. Unglamorous, and usually the features that decide whether an extension stays installed.

Entry price is the lowest published figure on a plan you could buy on its own — add-ons and extra seats are excluded, and a tool whose vendor publishes no figure sits under “price not published” rather than being guessed at.
