Every row is a verified field or an honest absence. A row is dropped rather than filled with an em dash, so the length of this table says how complete the record is.

What Keywords Everywhere is

Keywords Everywhere solved a workflow problem rather than a data problem. Instead of copying a keyword into a research tool, you see volume, CPC and competition where you already are — Google's results, YouTube, Amazon, Search Console and a dozen more. The habit is the product.

Its pricing is the unusual part, and it is worth understanding before comparing it to anything else. The extension is free and stays free for 18 features. What costs money is the data itself, bought as credits: 100,000 a year for $84, 400,000 for $168, 2,000,000 for $480, 8,000,000 for $1,440. All plans are annual. So it is not really a subscription to a tool, it is a metered data supply — and if you look up a hundred keywords a month, the cheapest tier is very hard to beat.

Two things have changed its shape recently. The higher tiers bundle in other products the company acquired — SEO Minion from Silver, Keyword Keg from Gold — so the ladder buys breadth as well as volume. And every plan now includes a REST API and an MCP server drawing on the same credit pool, which means the same keyword data is available to a script or a coding agent, not just to a browser tab.

What you can use it for

  • See search volume and CPC directly in Google, YouTube, Amazon and 15-plus other sites
  • Look up keyword data occasionally without paying a monthly platform fee
  • Pull the same keyword data into a script or a coding agent through the API or MCP server
  • Find a domain's top keywords and backlinks without opening a research platform

The features that matter for SEO

Each one says what it does and the SEO job it serves. A vendor feature list without that second half tells you nothing you could not read on their own site.

Volume, CPC and competition in place

Overlays keyword metrics on Google and 15-plus other sites including YouTube, Amazon and Search Console.

The whole point. Seeing volume next to a query you are already looking at removes the copy-paste round trip, which is why people keep it installed for years.

This is the paid part. The free tier gives you the extension's other 18 features but not the data.

Credit metering rather than a seat fee

Sells an annual credit allowance consumed by data lookups.

Suits irregular use. If you research in bursts, an annual credit pool is much cheaper than a monthly platform subscription you idle through.

REST API and MCP server

Exposes the same keyword data programmatically, drawing on the same credit pool, on every plan.

Notable — it makes the data available to scripts and to coding agents, so the cheapest keyword source in the directory is also automatable without an enterprise tier.

Bundled acquired tools

Includes SEO Minion from Silver and Keyword Keg from Gold.

Changes what the ladder buys. Upgrading is partly for volume and partly for breadth, which makes the mid-tiers better value than the credit counts alone suggest.

Free features without an account

Provides 18 features, including 200-plus prompt templates for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and DeepSeek, with no signup.

A genuinely useful free tier rather than a trial, and worth installing even if you never buy credits.

Domain keyword and backlink lookups

Returns a site's top keywords and backlinks, capped by plan from the top 1,000 to the top 10,000.

Enough for a quick competitive look. The caps are the reason it is a companion to a research platform rather than a replacement for one.

Free standalone tools

Offers browser-based tools on the site with no extension or signup.

Useful when you are on someone else's machine, and powered by the same data.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • By far the cheapest way to get search volume in front of you, from $84 a year
  • Credits suit irregular research better than any monthly subscription
  • Free tier is real — 18 features, no account needed
  • API and MCP server on every plan, sharing the credit pool
  • Chrome, Firefox and Edge, plus integration with the major AI chat tools

Limitations

  • All plans are annual, so there is no monthly way in
  • Volume data is the paid part — the free tier deliberately withholds it
  • Per-website keyword and backlink caps are low, from the top 1,000 on Bronze
  • Volumes are modelled from Google's own sources and will not match other tools exactly
  • Not a platform — no rank tracking, crawling or reporting

Who it is for, and who should skip it

Worth it if

  • Anyone who wants volume data in place rather than in another tab
  • Occasional or bursty keyword research where a monthly platform fee is waste
  • Feeding keyword data to a script or coding agent cheaply

Skip it if

  • You need rank tracking, crawling or client reporting
  • You want to pay monthly
  • You need deep per-domain keyword sets rather than the top few thousand

Alternatives to Keywords Everywhere

Each one answers when it is the better choice, which is the only thing a list of competitors is useful for.

  • KWFinder Choose it when you want a proper keyword research interface with difficulty scoring, not an overlay.
  • Ahrefs Choose it when you need depth and accuracy across keywords and links, and can justify platform pricing.
  • Ubersuggest Choose it when you want a cheap research tool with a lifetime option rather than metered credits.
  • SEOquake Choose it when you want free on-page and SERP metrics in the browser and no keyword volumes.

What changed

  • 20 August 2026 — Added to the directory after being cited as an alternative by two published listings while missing from the queue entirely. Pricing is taken from the plan comparison page, because the obvious URL — /pricing.html — serves a placeholder stub rather than any pricing.

Questions

How much does Keywords Everywhere cost?

The extension is free. Data costs credits, sold annually — Bronze $84 a year for 100,000 credits, Silver $168 for 400,000, Gold $480 for 2,000,000 and Platinum $1,440 for 8,000,000. There is no monthly option. Verified on 20 August 2026.

Is the free version worth installing?

Yes. Eighteen features work free with no account, including 200-plus prompt templates inside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and DeepSeek. What you do not get free is the data itself — search volume, CPC and competition — which is what credits buy.

Do credits make it cheaper than a subscription?

If your research is irregular, substantially. An annual pool does not expire monthly, so a quiet month costs nothing and a busy one draws more. The trade is that all plans are annual, so you commit for a year rather than testing it for one month.
