What Rankability is

Rankability covers the research-to-optimisation half of content SEO: discovering and clustering keyword opportunities, prioritising them, and grading drafts against what ranks. It is sold to agencies — the vendor cites 500-plus of them — and its structure follows from that.

The structure is the interesting part. Every tier includes unlimited clients and unlimited users, and what you actually buy is credits: 10,000 a month at $99, 30,000 at $199, 75,000 at $399. That inverts the usual agency problem, where adding a client or a colleague is what costs money, and replaces it with a single question about volume.

Credits being spent on every feature is the thing to model before buying. Research, clustering and optimisation all draw from the same pool, so a heavy research month and a heavy publishing month compete with each other. Work out your monthly volume across all three before choosing a tier, because the pool is what runs out.

What you can use it for

  • Give a whole agency and all its clients access without per-seat or per-client fees
  • Discover, cluster and prioritise keyword opportunities in one tool
  • Grade drafts against the pages currently ranking
  • Scale content work by buying credits rather than upgrading seats

The features that matter for SEO

Each one says what it does and the SEO job it serves. A vendor feature list without that second half tells you nothing you could not read on their own site.

Unlimited clients and users

Places no cap on client accounts or user seats on any tier.

The commercial case. In agency work the thing that normally scales the bill is headcount and client count, and here neither does — only volume.

Keyword discovery and clustering

Finds keyword opportunities and groups them into clusters with a prioritisation order.

Clustering inside the same tool that grades the draft removes the export-and-reimport step where most content workflows lose a day.

Content grading

Scores a draft against the pages ranking for its target query.

The standard job of the category, done inside the same credit pool as the research that produced the brief.

Credit-based metering

Charges credits for every feature from one monthly pool.

Flexible if your months vary, and a single shared constraint to manage rather than several separate caps.

Research and optimisation compete for the same credits, so a heavy research month reduces what you can publish.

Opportunity prioritisation

Ranks discovered opportunities rather than returning an undifferentiated list.

The step that turns a keyword export into a roadmap, and the one most teams do by hand in a spreadsheet.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • Unlimited clients and users on every tier, which is unusual in this category
  • Research, clustering and optimisation in one credit pool
  • Clear four-tier credit ladder rather than feature gating
  • Free trial before committing
  • Built and priced for agency workflow rather than for a single site

Limitations

  • Everything draws on one credit pool, so research and publishing compete
  • No published detail on what each action costs in credits, which makes forecasting hard
  • Newer and smaller than the established content-optimisation tools
  • No technical SEO, link data or rank tracking
  • No free tier

Who it is for, and who should skip it

Worth it if

  • Agencies where client and seat counts would otherwise drive the bill
  • Teams doing research and optimisation in the same workflow
  • Anyone whose monthly volume varies and wants one flexible pool

Skip it if

  • You need to forecast costs precisely and cannot get per-action credit rates
  • You are one person on one site — the entry tier is priced for more
  • You want the most established scoring model in the category

Alternatives to Rankability

Each one answers when it is the better choice, which is the only thing a list of competitors is useful for.

  • Clearscope Choose it when you want the clearest single report and unlimited users with published page-based limits.
  • NEURONwriter Choose it when you want the lowest price and can live with tightly metered analyses.
  • Surfer Choose it when writers need optimisation inside Google Docs and WordPress.
  • MarketMuse Choose it when you need site-level topic modelling rather than per-page grading.

Questions

How much does Rankability cost?

$99 a month for 10,000 credits, $199 for 30,000, $399 for 75,000 and $799 for the largest published allowance — with unlimited clients and users on every tier. Verified on 19 August 2026.

What does "unlimited clients and users" actually change?

It removes the two things that normally scale an agency's tooling bill. Most content tools charge per seat, per client workspace or both, so a growing agency pays more for the same work. Here only credit volume moves, which makes the cost a function of output rather than headcount.

What is the catch with credit-based pricing?

Research, clustering and optimisation all draw from one pool, so they compete: a month spent researching a new client leaves fewer credits for grading drafts. The vendor does not publish what each action costs, which makes forecasting harder than a plan with separate caps.
